A round, pastel-cream ghost with blushing cheeks and a closed-eye smile, topped with a small flower crown in pink, blue, and yellow. At 40 x 46 stitches, it finishes fast enough to fit into a single evening.
About This Pattern
Most Halloween cross stitch leans hard into black cats and jack-o’-lanterns, which leaves a gap for something gentler — this ghost is built for the crowd that wants October decor without anything remotely scary in the house. It works well for a kid’s room during fall, a low-key hostess gift, or as a quick seasonal piece to rotate into a frame alongside your regular decor for a few weeks each October.

DMC 819 (Baby Pink - Light, the ghost’s body) and 939 (Navy Blue - Very Dark, the outline) do most of the work here at 1,131 combined stitches out of 1,525 total — get those two down and the ghost’s full shape and expression are essentially complete. The flower crown adds the remaining 11 colors in small doses, several under 10 stitches, as simple detail accents rather than anything that requires careful shading.

Tips for Stitching This Pattern
Stitch the navy outline (939) before the pink body fill (819) — the ghost’s wavy bottom edge has several tight curves, and having the outline down first gives you a clear boundary to fill inside rather than trying to eyeball where the pink should stop. The flower crown uses five different colors in a tight cluster at the top of the design (745, 3078, 827, 3766, 564) — stitch it last as its own small project once the ghost’s body is finished, since working it in isolation makes it easier to keep each tiny flower’s colors from bleeding into its neighbor.
