Three bell-shaped flowers hanging from a single arched stem, each bloom shaded in a different tone of blue so they read as individual flowers rather than a repeated motif. At 75 x 90 stitches, the tall vertical layout leaves noticeable negative space on either side, which reads intentionally sparse rather than unfinished once it’s framed.
About This Pattern
Bluebells carry a distinctly woodland, unfussy feel compared to a cultivated garden flower like a rose or tulip, which makes this a good choice if you want florals without the piece reading as overly sweet — it suits a reading nook or a bathroom as easily as a bedroom. The muted blue palette also makes it one of the calmer pieces in the batch if you’re stitching a gallery wall and want one design that isn’t shouting for attention.

Skill Level
The black outline (DMC 310) does a lot of structural work here at 904 stitches, over 40% of the design on its own, which means getting that outline right early matters more than usual. Three greens (909, 703, and 700) handle the stem and leaves at 708 combined stitches, while a family of four blues shades the actual bells — distinguishing those blues from each other under artificial light is the part that pushes this past a true beginner piece.

Tips for Stitching This Pattern
Complete the black outline (310) across the entire design before adding any color — with 904 stitches doing the structural linework, having the full skeleton in place first means every blue and green fill has a hard edge to stop at, instead of you guessing where a petal boundary falls. B5200 (Snow White) shows up as small highlight dots inside the bells at 22 stitches; save those for last so you can see exactly where the light-catching spots should sit against the finished blue shading. See our pixel art cross-stitch guide for more on this flat-color style, or our botanical pattern roundup for more muted, woodland-toned florals.
