A single magenta tulip with a bright yellow center, sitting above two curved leaves that sweep out to either side. At only 36 x 41 stitches, this is one of the smallest designs in our pixel-art collection — realistic to finish in a single sitting.
About This Pattern
Tulips hit that specific window between winter and full spring, which makes this a good pick for an early-season gift or a quick palate cleanser between bigger projects. The small footprint also makes it a strong option for a keychain, a card insert, or anywhere you want a recognizable flower shape without committing a full evening to it — pair it with our potted tulip pattern if you want to stitch the same flower two ways, cut-stem and potted, side by side.

Skill Level
Beginner
Don’t let the 19-color count intimidate you — this is genuinely a beginner design because most of those colors appear only a handful of times each. Three greens (890, 911, and 913) carry the leaves at 367 combined stitches, and two pinks (602 and 3804) carry the bloom at 181 combined, which together account for more than half the entire piece before you touch the dozen tiny accent colors.

Tips for Stitching This Pattern
Stitch the two leaves first using 890, 911, and 913 — they’re the largest solid blocks in the design and finishing them gives you a stable frame of reference for placing the smaller bloom colors above. Seven of the accent colors (23, 934, 3731, 869, 910, 319, and several others) appear two stitches or fewer each; circle those on your printed chart in advance rather than trying to spot them as you go, since a single stitch is easy to miss on a design this small. New to this style? Our pixel art cross-stitch guide covers what makes it different from a traditionally shaded chart, and our botanical pattern roundup has more quick-stitch florals like this one.
