Using food patterns

Food designs are usually small, which makes them good first projects and quick gifts. A tiny chart works on a greeting card or a fridge magnet as well as in a small hoop, and a few of them framed together make a kitchen wall.

Because the shapes are simple, the outline does most of the work. Stitch the outline color first on these designs: it gives every fill color a clear edge to stop at, so the shapes stay crisp.
