A round-eyed penguin stands in a bright orange shirt covered in white flowers and green leaves, with a wide straw hat tipped on its head. The joke is the contrast: a cold-weather bird dressed for a tiki bar. The shirt’s print is busy enough to be the real stitching challenge.

It’s rated Intermediate. The design is small, but 22 colors and a patterned shirt mean frequent thread changes: the three main colors cover less than half the stitches, and the rest are spread across the floral print and the hat. Expect roughly 35 to 60 hours at a steady 60 to 100 stitches an hour.
On 14-count Aida the finished design measures 4.3“ x 5.9“ (10.9 x 15.0 cm). On 16-count it comes out at 3.8“ x 5.2“, and on 18-count at 3.3“ x 4.6“. For the 14-count version, an 8“ x 10“ frame leaves room for a mat.
